Now that the internet has permeated people's everyday lives, ways in which one used to manage both the discretionary and other time have taken a whole different turn. The internet, in both their entertainment and utilitarian use, is an integral feature in many daily tasks nowadays. As with all useful creations, however, there also come with some rather adversary reasons the internet does more harm than good. How we use it determines whether it serves us positively or negatively. It is important for individuals to make time for those activities that will add meaningful value to their lives. Unfortunately, with increasingly appealing social media trends, too many of us have difficulty engaging in more substantial activities. Consequently, they waste their time on superficial things that will give them immediate satisfaction, such as social recognition and online popularity, which are not conducive to their growth or well-being.

Similarly, while it is quite pleasurable and engaging to play video games, excessive gaming can result in addiction, whereby essential tasks will be neglected. Especially in students, it is customary to witness their poor performance at school due to dedicating so many hours to either playing on a computer or watching somebody else play. The best solution for avoiding this and ensuring it doesn't stand in the way of efficiency is creating a strict regime and allowing yourself only a specific number of hours for gaming and doing everything necessary before allowing yourself some entertainment.

Moreover, reasonable internet usage means access limitation to some websites and a reduction in screen time. Removing extra apps will reduce distractions and lower the chances of physical discomfort due to long exposure to the screen, such as eye strain from digital devices. Moreover, keeping gadgets out of reach, especially at bedtime, can help in cultivating healthier screen time habits.
