Do you think that you are not necessarily
bound to taking up a course in order to learn a foreign language? Of course
not, because the language can be learned by oneself. Although I major in
English, I can still use it before I start this major.
While learning English, I used to keenly
pay attention to each word that was spoken by the British and Americans on
television. I had started learning the foreign language in that maintaining
paying attention while watching and occasionally speaking without realizing I
had started doing so. Me Borg= I watched how individuals introduced themselves
to each other, said good morning and good bye, what they said if they needed help
or were running late to school, how quickly they spoke, their diction used,
etc. Pay attention and listen as much as you can. With the correct accent and
sounds, you will be able to say at least a few words in the language you study
in no time.
I believe that the best way to learn a language is by first speaking. Whatever
grammatical mistakes, missing articles, incomplete phrases, and unattractive
accents—start speaking the language. While learning, even a professional
commits mistakes that would bring shame to a third-grader, so do not feel bad
if you do it. If you don't have any friends or professionals who can help you
utter the words more clearly, then record your voice, listen to it later, and
compare it with the native speaker's voice. The more important thing is that it
sounds closer to it rather than perfect.
Once you learn the common vocabulary, you will be able to communicate fluently
in a foreign language. Besides everything, one of the main factors that hinders
language learners from speaking in a foreign language is the lack of
vocabulary, which gives them hard times pronouncing words of the foreign
language they are learning. You can start off by learning some of the words
from a foreign language that you use frequently in an everyday situation—for
instance, greetings, introductions, and small talk. Of course, with today's
internet-based world, there are several programs available that will be helpful
in our learning process. Applications commonly used online can be downloaded to
our own devices, meaning we can learn at any time and any place that we may
prefer to do so.
This is so because many people cannot learn
the art of speaking English due to the absence of a partner with whom they can
speak. However, while practicing talking to oneself in front of the mirror, one
can very well imagine speaking English with some person or even acting as one's
favorite movie actor, and therefore can always practice speaking skills without
a partner.
But one thing you have to remember is that you must believe in yourself one day
that you will master it; believing in yourself with confidence and enjoying the
process, I'm sure you will get the hang of it. But when you give up or don't
believe in yourself after failing at the beginning of the experiment, then you
never will successfully master.
