believe everyone wants to be respected and have a good life, and respect is the
backbone of peace. It really is the backbone necessary to foster global people.
While the respect and appreciation for people are universal aspirations,
putting these qualities into practice is not universal. Respect, by definition,
must begin with self-respect, and respect from others must be precluded by
self-respect. Self-awareness and self-worth are both important in the grounds
preparation for respect when it comes to dealing with people.
Indonesia
is a dynamic entity with so many traditions, cultures, languages, and religions
that it underlines the fact that tolerance is associated with national unity.
It indicates that diversity in this country means nothing if people will not
learn to live together peacefully. Still, against the given wide-spectrum type
of feel-good background, instances of negativity do occur. Unless those issues
are addressed, they turn out to be potentially threatening to the tight unity
enjoyed by Indonesia throughout history, a unity based primarily on tolerance
and brotherhood. Proactive measures are, therefore, needed to protect and
secure this unity.
The
most innovative ideas related to the re-establishment of tolerance in Indonesia
include cooperating with peace organizations and proactively spreading the good
stories about peace in all parts of the country. Throughout its history,
Indonesians have always mustered their people, setting aside the racial,
cultural, and religious barriers that might set them apart from one another, in
an effort to fight for freedom through mutual acceptance and respect for one
another's differences. It is for this reason that this shared history can serve
as a beacon of hope: bigorty can be defeated due to the fact that Indonesians
will be taught about the importance of diversity and tolerance.
I
invite everyone to spread the message of peace on the internet, be disciplined
in acting and for a tolerant peaceful Indonesia. I dream of every Indonesian
coming together to eradicate intolerance and preserve diversity to create a
peaceful Indonesia.
Being
responsible digital citizens encompasses much more than refraining from
offensive comments. It's about remaining in control during a conflict and
contributing constructively to the online exchange to counter hate speech. We
contribute to shaping a world of greater inclusiveness and empathy by guiding
global peace and mediating disputes that build conflict in the ether.
Tolerance
nurtures virtue and harmony; thus, people can live with each other peacefully
though they have very diverse political perspectives, religious beliefs, or
cultural backgrounds. Sharing videos and messages that touch the heart, spread
peace on the internet, or starting blogs to spread harmony-are other great ways
we can be of difference towards a better tomorrow for generations to come.
